Sectional Removal of a Hazardous Cracked Pine Tree

When a large pine tree develops deep cracks and advanced decay, it becomes a serious safety hazard — especially when it’s positioned directly over a home. That was exactly the challenge we faced on a recent job in Chapel Hill. The customer contacted us after noticing significant cracking and decay in the trunk of a mature pine tree. The tree was in a very difficult location: hanging directly over the roof of the house with a fence running underneath it. There was almost no room for error.

Our Solution

Instead of risking a full directional felling, our climber went up and carefully dismantled the tree in sections. Using precise rigging techniques, we lowered every piece down safely, avoiding the roof and fence below. This piece-by-piece tree removal allowed us to maintain full control throughout the entire process.

Despite the tight quarters and the compromised condition of the tree, the job was completed with zero damage to the home or fence. The customer was relieved to have the hazardous tree gone without any costly repairs afterward.

At Tree Top Flyer Tree Service, we specialize in high-risk tree removals that other companies often refuse. With over 35 years of experience and proper climbing & rigging equipment, we know how to safely handle dangerous trees in challenging locations.
